Heavy Rotation

It’s been awhile since I posted anything, so I figure I would just do a quick ten-song playlist on Spotify with some great folk music I’ve been listening to a lot recently.

Recently discovered The Tech Thieves and they are fantastic! On the calmer end of electronic music, with some great lines and solid lyrics, I highly recommend browsing their selection of singles. If you find you like the style, check out The Red EP from them. You won’t be disappointed!

Today I want to introduce the artist The Dead Brothers and their album 5th Sin-Phonie.

If you like country/folk inspired music with a healthy twist of blues and gothic themes (that’s a sentence, huh?) then they will be up your alley.

The showcase this time around is a playlist I’ve put together for when you just want tunes that can pump it up. I call it Heavy Hitters. My music showcase this week is an artist’s discography. Their selection is very limited, only 7 songs, but they are odd and haunting. I really appreciate their tone, and for one reason or another their music is speaking to me recently.

Today’s music update is not some recent discovery for me, but it is a band I absolutely adore and want to point more people at.

This past week I went on a quest for new music. Trying to escape my usual genres with something new to me. So I went digging around at the edges of my musical tastes, hoping to find something new to pull into my heavy rotation.
